Hi, I'm Kelly!

I currently work as the Interactive Graphics Editor for Science Magazine where I create charts, maps, graphs and online interactives. I am passionate about advocating for the natural world and enjoy using art to communicate challenging scientific concepts to a diverse audience. I have a background in both art and science. Prior to working at Science, I worked as a research assistant at the Sewall Lab which focuses on conservation biology. I completed my Masters in Biology in 2020 at Temple University working with Brent Sewall to investigate White-nose syndrome in little brown bats. For many years before going back to school for biology, I worked as a freelance artist in Philadelphia painting signage, murals and independent pieces. I originally went to school for illustration and have a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art.
